The domaine
According to old maps, Domaine Les Jonchiers owes its name to a particular type of grass. It is a toponym derived from the Latin word ‘juncus’, referring to an area characterized by reeds. The reed is a thin, tall-growing plant primarily used for weaving, such as (coconut) mats, chairs, and even seals for wine barrels.
Domaine Les Jonchiers is a unique vacation destination in the Drôme where dreams come true. Vanja and Steven welcome you with open arms, striving to give you the experience of a lifetime.
Logement à l’aise
At Domaine Les Jonchiers, you can completely unwind. This authentic mas (southern French farmhouse) with a beautiful garden (5.4 hectares) is located in the Drôme Provençale, also known as the Haute Vaucluse. This rural area is the gateway to the Vaucluse, Provence and Ardèche. It is a unique hidden gem on the left bank of the Rhône, a short drive (15 minutes) from the Autoroute du Soleil.
A Charming Vacation Destination Between Lavender Fields and Olive Trees
Where the Alps meet Provence, you drive towards tranquillity. Nestled between truffle trees and vineyards on one side and lavender fields and olive trees on the other, lies the boutique holiday resort Les Jonchiers. Small-scale, personal and stylish. It is within walking distance of the village of Bouchet with its bakery and cosy bistro.
As soon as you arrive on the property, you are charmed by the ochre-colored illuminated facade stone of the gîtes Monet and Van Gogh, which are interwoven into the main building. The gîte Van Gogh and Maison Matisse have fantastic views of Mont Ventoux. Furthermore, there is the beautiful gatehouse(Maison Matisse) with a private swimming pool of 4 m by 5 m. Behind the mas there is a large, communal swimming pool (6 m by 15 m) with a spacious sunbathing area of 300m².
Enjoying the Magnificent Sunrise and Starry Sky
In fact, the reflection of the light is always magnificent. As soon as the sun appears behind Mont Ventoux, you see a beautiful palette of colours. And that is different every season and every day. In late summer, the fiery red sunset provides a special end to the day. The starry sky is also a must-see for true nature lovers.
